Structural rehabilitation of five (5) standard floor 40’ Neoplan Transit buses; removal and replacement of corroded (magnesium chloride) frame and side wall structural components; cleaning and plating of damaged structural components; corrosion-proofing inner and outer frame tube structure; reskinning side walls and repair or replacement of lower skirt panels and service door access panels including gas struts and hinges; complete repaint using PPG Concept.ATW is currently providing a six-man field service team on-site at the Durham Area Transit Authority (DATA) to make urgent repairs to DATA’s fleet of 50 buses. Maintenance on these buses was seriously neglected by a contract operator. Repair activities have focused on critical defects such as ABS brake systems, engines, transmissions, steering axles, etc.
ATW is currently working on several Chance Opus medium duty transit buses. Services include replacement of flooring, service of air and brake system, mechanical repairs as needed, replacement of engine and transmission, reworking the cooling system, bringing the engine compartment up to like new, as well as repainting with a new color scheme.
